Milton Kahn's first step into the publishing world came through literary agent Joel Gotler who asked if he could take over publicizing and marketing James Halperin's science fiction novel The Truth Machine with Ballantine Books. Having never executed a publicity campaign for an author Mr. Kahn decided to give it a try. As a result Milton was able to secure many major interviews for the author which resulted in over 200,000 copies sold.
Milton has orchestrated many successful award-winning book publicity and book marketing programs, in which his clients have been profiled in publications such as People, Newsweek, Forbes, Parade, TV Guide, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, Time, Entertainment Weekly, Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, AARP, Money, etc. and television shows including Oprah, The O’Reilly Factor, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show (CBS), Late Show, with David Letterman, C-SPAN, CNN, and Sean Hannity.
An example of Kahn's work as a book marketing consultant was when hockey legend Gordie Howe called upon Milton to publicize Howe’s self-published autobiography, and…Howe. The book marketing and public relations strategy resulted in Howe selling all 100,000 copies printed.
The Santa Barbara based publicist opened the door for Heisman Trophy winner and All-Pro Football Hall of Fame great Tony Dorsett landing a starring role in Roger Corman’s motion picture Kill Zone which also starred David Carradine.
